This house plan can be modified to fit your family’s lifestyle and your lot’s specifics.
Plan 55837R is a 3-bedroom coastal house plan with four stories, an elevated design, 3035 ft² of living space and a hip & valley roof. Inspired by Low Country and Southern architecture, this American single family home pairs siding with large windows and layers of covered outdoor living. The house measures 47'5" wide and 56'6" deep, with three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms spread across its levels.
The main living area follows an open floor plan, so the kitchen, dining and family spaces work as one connected room. The family room is anchored by a fireplace, a welcome focal point on cool evenings. The large center kitchen sits at the heart of the layout, with an island and a breakfast bar for casual meals and a breakfast nook for slower mornings. A media room gives the household a dedicated place for movie nights, and a home office offers a quiet corner for remote work or homework, away from the everyday traffic of the kitchen.
The bedrooms follow a split layout that gives each one more privacy. The master suite is on the second floor and includes a walk-in closet. The laundry room is on the same floor, close to the bedrooms and their closets. An in-law suite provides comfortable quarters for visiting relatives or a live-in parent, and a bonus room above the garage serves as a flex room that can become a playroom, a gym or a hobby space as the family's needs change.
Outside, the elevated design places a drive-under three-car garage beneath the living levels, with both front entry and rear entry access and finished space upstairs. A wraparound porch and stacked porches give the house its classic Southern character, complemented by a covered front porch, a covered rear porch, a balcony, a deck and a lanai for outdoor dining and relaxing. The home is built on the foundation as shown in the plans, and it is also available with a crawl space, slab, monolithic slab, stem wall or basement foundation. 2×6 exterior walls are available on request.
