This house plan can be modified to fit your family’s lifestyle and your lot’s specifics.
Plan 84878R is a 6-bedroom two-story house plan that blends European and French Country character with New American and traditional American lines, all under a hip and valley roof punctuated by dormers. The home offers 7515 ft² on two floors above a full basement and measures 67'6" wide and 77'6" deep. Siding, stone/brick veneer and shakes/shingles give the facade layered texture, and a bay window adds a graceful projection to the outline.
The main floor follows an open floor plan, so the living areas flow into one another without closed-off corners. At its heart is a large family room with a fireplace, a natural gathering point on winter evenings, while vaulted ceilings lend the house volume and height. The large center kitchen serves every side of the plan, with an island, a breakfast bar for quick meals and a breakfast nook for slower mornings. A walk-in pantry keeps supplies out of sight, and the design includes two kitchens, a real convenience for hosting or for relatives living under the same roof.
Sleeping quarters use a split bedroom layout for privacy. The master suite sits on the main floor with a walk-in closet, and an in-law suite gives guests or extended family a comfortable space of their own. Five full bathrooms and one half bath serve the six bedrooms, including a Jack & Jill bath shared by two of them. Everyday chores stay close at hand with laundry on the main floor, a separate utility room and generous storage. For recreation, the plan adds a game room, a media room and a bonus/flex room above the garage that can become an office, a studio or a playroom.
Outside, a covered front porch welcomes visitors, and a screened porch, a deck and a patio extend family life into the open air. The 3-car garage is side entry and extends forward, keeping the doors away from the main view of the house. This house plan with a basement is drawn on the foundation shown, and it is also available with a crawl space, slab, monolithic slab or stem wall foundation, as well as with 2x6 exterior walls on request.
