House plan 38878C is a 5-bedroom 3-story house plan that brings European and Prairie influences together in a brick family home of 2884 ft². A hip & valley roof with a gentle 5/12 pitch keeps the silhouette broad and grounded, true to the Prairie tradition, while the brick exterior walls give the house a solid, timeless European character. The home measures 43'0" wide and 66'0" deep, with a height of 28'0". The walls are framed with aerated concrete blocks, and clay hollow blocks or sand-lime blocks are also available on request.
The entry leads into an open floor plan where the large family room and the large kitchen share one generous, connected space. A fireplace in the family room gives the whole level a natural gathering point, and on a winter evening it is the place everyone ends up. The kitchen is organized around an island, with a breakfast bar for quick meals and conversation with whoever is cooking. A separate breakfast nook sits beside a corner window, so mornings start with daylight from two directions. Large windows and floor-to-ceiling windows bring plenty of light into the living areas and keep a close connection with the outdoors.
The five bedrooms are clustered together, which keeps the private rooms close to one another and apart from the everyday bustle of the kitchen and family room. Two of them are master suites, a layout that suits multigenerational families, long-staying guests or two couples sharing a home, and the plan includes a walk-in closet. Two full bathrooms serve the bedrooms. The laundry is on the second floor rather than near the garage, and a dedicated utility room keeps the mechanical equipment out of sight and easy to service.
Outside, the covered rear porch is designed as a true outdoor room, with an outdoor fireplace and an outdoor kitchen for cooking and dining in the open air well into the cool season. The 2-car garage is front entry and extends forward of the main facade, giving the street elevation depth and a clear, convenient approach. The house has no basement and stands on strip footings; a slab foundation or a concrete block foundation is also available on request. For a family that wants room for five bedrooms, two master suites and a house plan with fireplace both indoors and out, this brick home of 2884 ft² offers a thoughtful, practical design.
